Our Travel Plans for 2025

Due to medication supply problems, we will be leaving the road Full-time in 2025. Our plans are to spend the month of May taking care of Marlene’s Dad in College Station and then moving to Stafford we here we hope to find an apartment and a place to store Koko. After getting some work done on Koko we may make a trip this Fall. Stay tuned.

 

March 7, 2025

We have changed our plans a bit. Will be heading to College station for the Month of May to take care of Marlene’s Dad while her Brother and Sister-in-Law do some traveling. This may give us an opportunity to get some stuff done on Koko before we set out in June for our trip to Colorado.

 

February 26, 2025

We are approaching the midpoint in our Galveston Stay for 2026. We will be moving to a new site in Stella Mare for the last three months. 

 

We will also spend a week in Rockport in early March to see many of our feathered friends before they head north for the Summer.

 

We are hoping to make a hotel trip to Central Texas to see the Bluebonnets in Late March or Early April.

 

Other than that, I have finished our planning for the major trip in the Summer and Fall. All we are waiting on is a thumbs up from the eye doctor.

Idealized Winter on the Beach

I have been working on our 2025 plans since the last update. I have cancelled all our reservations to our month-long stay in Cortez, NM where we will explore the many wonders of the Four Corners.

 

We will remain in Galveston through May before spending six weeks visiting Texas State Parks, visiting family, and friends until our arrival in Santa Fe.  For another month-long stay.   After a week in Chama, NM we will arrive in Cortez, NM. The fall will be spent wandering back to the Texas Gulf Coast for the winter of 25-26.

January 1, 2025

Since we have been driving in the right lane these last few years, I have become adept at adapting.  The end of 2024 has thrown some surprises, and we must adjust our 2025 travel plans. A routine eye exam revealed a condition that is not serious and is unlikely to become so. But the Doctor wants to monitor it for the next 6 months. Koko also has a “soft floor” that will require some downtime. Also, the Insurance Companies and Drug Companies, in pursuit of ever-increasing dividends for stockholders, seem to be incapable of delivering my meds in a timely manner on the road.  All of this has led me to believe that the universe is telling us that 2025 is not the year for a major trip. So, we have called off the Pacific Northwest Trip and will be exploring around Galveston at least through May. After that, our plans will depend on how we are able to address these challenges.

 

So, for the next five months, we will be living life in the right lane around this part of Texas. Anything else will have to wait and see.
